I am a planner! This is a quality that is an asset for any type of position I have held. Not all plans work out as expected so that is an opportunity to come up with a new plan. I enjoy working with people and data. Coaching allows me to help co-workers grow to learn new skills while working on their current task. Reviewing data can be boring, however I find it very interesting. Analyzing the past and current information is an indication of what may happen in the future to help me plan.

Questions & Answers

What is your dream job?
My dream job would be to own a bakery, more specifically a ‘cookie store’. I bake cookies because they don’t need cutting. I had 3 semesters of kindergarten and I still can’t cut straight! Cookies are yummy and fun for all ages. Who is not happy when eating a warm cookie and drinking a cold glass of milk?
Tell me something that is not on your resume.
I worked in a retail store. I worked mainly in the infant, children’s and women’s department. My main task was to stock and organize the merchandise, I learned that work can be fun. It was my first job.
Do I work well with other people?
I am always willing to help whenever a person or group needs assistance, so yes I am a team player. Working in a group is a great way to brainstorm ideas. I can also work by myself. I am not a person that needs constant social interaction.
My work style?
I am a team player, more specifically a coach. I am happy to stand on the sideline to let the team or individual I coached take the spotlight. If a deadline might be missed I will step in to help to ensure the task is completed timely. Team success is critical.
Do you take work home with you?
Yes, I do take work home with me. Sometimes it is best to take some time to think about a topic so I do ‘take work home’. I think while I walk. I have started a personal goal of walking 10,000 steps per day. Since January 1, 2015 there have been 3 days when I have not completed that goal. I use my walking time as ‘thinking time’. Also I do not sing in the shower (no one wants to hear that!), I have used that time to plan and evaluate the day ahead.
What did I like best about my last position?
I enjoyed helping the bankers that contacted the Client Services Team for assistance. If it was as simple as a quick question or as complex has implementing Shadow Accounting I had satisfaction in providing information to help. As I progressed to manager I still had some contact with the financial institution, however I was still helpful resolving their questions as I coached my team members so they had the information to answer questions timely and efficiently.
What did substitute teaching teach me?
How to think on my feet! When something did not go as expected can the planned event continue or should it be scrapped and move on to the next topic.
Most challenging days as a substitute teacher?
The first week! I had a student eating paper in a 2nd grade class, this was day 1. Can you believe I continued this position for four years after that day! In a Kindergarten class I was talking about the letter “F” and she suggested I draw a frog on the chalkboard…………well drawing a frog is not easy, let’s just say the drawing was not very recognizable, I challenged the students to draw a better frog than I did.
How did I start in banking?
While in school I was working in a retail store owned by JCPenney. A decision was made to eliminate the chain, so I needed a new job. I knew someone who had a co-op position at Heritage Bank in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. Heritage Bank was looking for a Teller. That Teller position led to many other opportunities for me. It is all in ‘who you know
